How do I set my office chair?

How do I set my office chair?

If you have a office chair at home or at work, you are on the right way to work ergonomically. Do you want to see immediately how everything works? Then view our Set videos about office chair.

But what is the ideal height of the office chair? What is the best attitude you have to take on? How can you set your office chair properly? We are happy to answer these questions so that you can sit on your office chair.

Ideal height of the office chair

The height of the office chair depends on how long you are. Fortunately, most office chairs are adjustable so you can always set the correct height. The rule of thumb is that you have to keep your legs at an angle of 90 degrees.

This ensures that enough blood flows through your legs, so that your legs do not go to sleep or irritate. If you experience this, adjust the chair down. So that your legs are in a 90 -degree angle again.

Set the office chair, do it in no time!

Backrest

The backrest can be adjusted with the lever under the chair. If you turn here and you push your back against the backrest, the backrest goes back. If you want to secure the backrest, turn the lever a quarter stroke so that it is stuck.

Sitting area

The seating area can be adjusted with the disk under the seating area. Pull the disk and move forward or back to get the ideal position. The ideal position of the seating area is further explained in this blog (step 2).

Armrests

With some seats it is possible to adjust the armrests. If you press the button or lever on the armrester, the armrest is adjustable. Press the button or lever and now you can adjust the army up or down. The ideal height of the armrests must be at the same height as your desk (step 7).

Counterprint in the back

The back pressure in the back can be regulated with the rotary knob on the back of the chair. If you turn this, there will be more or less back pressure in the back. It is different per person how much back pressure someone wants to experience. So you can play with this to find the right back pressure in your back.

Height adjust

The height of the chair can be adjusted with the lever on the side of the chair. Turn the lever a quarter of a stroke towards you and the chair goes up automatically. If you want to adjust the chair down, sit on the chair and turn on the lever on the side of the chair. The chair now slowly drops.

Remember the rule of thumb (legs 90 degrees and feet flat on the floor), because then you can set exactly the correct height.

Best attitude for a office chair

To make perfect use of a office chair, the most important part is your attitude. Do you want to improve your attitude? Then follow these 9 steps to take the perfect position:

  1. Put your legs 90 degrees and feet flat on the floor
  2. Put 3 fingers between the end of the seat and your knees
  3. Sit with your buttocks in the back of the chair
  4. Sit firmly against the backrest with your back
  5. Relax your shoulders
  6. Put your elbows on the armrests of the office chair
  7. Put the armrests at the same height as your desk
  8. Take your keyboard and your mouse to you to keep the right position
  9. You are now completely according to the ergonomic guidelines in your chair

If you have followed these 9 steps then you have the perfect position to work in your chair. If you have any questions about one of these steps, we are happy to help you.

Office chair with a high back

If you are longer than 180 cm then a high back office chair is very nice to have. This has to do with the fact that you have enough support for your back. If you have a desk chair with a low back and your shoulders hang over the backrest, you often get physical complaints.

To keep the best position on the office chair, a high back is therefore necessary. An example of a good office chair with a high back is the Zuidas (N) and 1335. This chair is widely used in offices, but is also suitable for your home workplace.

Alternative office chair

Work has a large selection of different office chairs, So that you can always choose the perfect chair. Workliving has alternative office chairs, for example refurbished office chairs.

These are chairs that are re -upholstered, repaired and checked. The refurbished office chairs are often lower in price. With this you have a great "new" office chair for a lower price.

Make workplace complete

If you have set your office chair properly, you are well on your way to making your workplace complete. What is of course still missing is one adjustable desk. With an adjustable desk you can stand and sit behind your workplace. This ensures variety and therefore a minimal chance of physical complaints.

If you have any questions, we will be happy to help you with the good set and take on the right posture. We want you to be in the right place.
